Bernadette Peters
Bernadette (nee Lazzara) Peters is an American performer and actress. She has appeared on films, television as well as in musical theatre and solo performances, in addition to recorded recordings. Her career spans over six decades. Critically acclaimed Broadway performer she has won seven Tony Awards nominations, winning two (plus an honourary award) and nine Drama Desk Award nominations. She has won three. Grammy Awards were won for four of her Broadway roles.
Peters is widely recognized as the most well-known interpreter of the works written by Stephen Sondheim. Her roles on Broadway include Mack and Mabel (1974), Sunday in the Park with George (84), Song and Dance (1985), Into the Woods with George (87) and The Goodbye Girl(93), Annie Get Your Gun 1999), Gypsy (2003), A Little Night Music (2009), Follies (2011), as well as Hello, Dolly (2018).
